|
To connect the MPI® to a snowmobile MPEM through its DESS® post (MY 2002 and former)
| 1. | Connect one end of the DESS adapter into the 6-pin adapter. |
| 2. | Connect the other end of the DESS adapter to the DESS post of the vehicle. |
| 3. | Start the engine or provide DC power to the MPEM before starting communication with the module. |
To connect the MPI to a snowmobile MPEM through its diagnostic connector (MY 2003 and above)
| 1. | Remove the diagnostic connector from the protective cap fixed to the vehicle. |
| 2. | Connect the 6-pin adapter to the diagnostic connector of the vehicle harness. You may have to use a supply cable. |
| 3. | Insert a DIAGNOSTIC key on the DESS post of the vehicle only if you need to start the engine during your diagnostic session. |
| 4. | Start the engine or provide DC power to the MPEM before starting communication with the module. |
Note
Make sure no DESS key has been read by the MPEM before attempting to communicate with it otherwise it will refuse to repond to any diagnostic command.
